On April 8th, the donation signing ceremony between Shanghai Maritime University and AGRICORE Group was held in the Haifeng International Lecture Hall of Shanghai Maritime University. Present at the ceremony were President Chu Beiping, Vice President Li Zhipeng, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Lianghe Group and alumnus of the International Shipping Management major of the class of 1999 of the university, Gao Zhiqiang, Vice President of the Group and alumnus of the Shipping Management major of the class of 1999 of the university, Han Dingfeng, and Vice President Peng Fei. The ceremony was presided over by Vice President Li Zhipeng, Secretary of the Party Committee.

President of Chu Beiping expressed his warm welcome to Chairman Gao Zhiqiang and his delegation, and thanked the group for their donation to the school. He also commended the group for their outstanding achievements in the shipping industry over the years. He introduced the basic situation of the school and stated that the school has always attached great importance to establishing a “symbiotic relationship” with enterprises. He hoped that the school and the group could jointly build a new ecosystem of industry-education integration and science-education integration in areas such as talent cultivation, scientific and technological innovation, and cultural exchange. He analyzed the impact of the current international situation on economic and industry development, and emphasized the “Cloud Maritime University” project supported by the group’s donation. He stressed that the “Cloud Maritime University”, which is built by integrating cloud computing, AI, digital technology, and blockchain, not only provides an integrated scene for the school’s teaching, research, and office work, but also provides basic data support for the country, industry, and society. It will also provide a new platform for school-enterprise cooperation. He hoped that the enterprise would deeply participate in the project construction and jointly contribute to the development of the country and the industry.
Chairman Gao Zhiqiang introduced his personal and the group’s development history, and expressed his gratitude to his alma mater for its cultivation of him and its support to the group in terms of talent and intelligence over the years. He stated that the group focuses on four business sectors: international shipping, ship management, shipping finance, and equity investment, and is accelerating its international layout and the construction of a comprehensive brand enterprise. He hoped to work hand in hand with the school to explore and build a new model of industry-education integration, deepen cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research cooperation, and international exchange, and empower each other.

At the ceremony, Mr. Li Zhipeng, Deputy Party Secretary, and Mr. Han Dingfeng, Vice President, signed the agreement on behalf of the university and the enterprise respectively. President Chu Beiping presented Chairman Gao Zhiqiang with the donation certificate and a letter of appointment as visiting professor.

Representatives of the university and enterprise had in-depth exchanges on personnel training, student employment, joint scientific research, think tank construction, alumni services and other aspects.

Visiting The School History Museum
Before the meeting, accompanied by the school leaders, Chairman Gao Zhiqiang and his delegation visited the school library, the school History Museum and the Research and development Center of the Marine Law Data base, the Marine Law Data Authentication Center and the transportation trusted Data Space Laboratory.
